DESCRIPTION:Quantum Hackathon – SESAME 2026\nThe Quantum Computing Hacka
 thon – SESAME 2026 is a hands-on event focused on using quantum computin
 g to address real-world problems related to water and energy. It will bri
 ng together students and young researchers from across the Middle East and
  beyond\, supported by international mentors\, speakers\, judges.\nDuring 
 the hackathon\, participants will work in teams on practical computing cha
 llenges related to water and energy and explore how quantum computing appr
 oaches could help address them. The aim is to give participants practical 
 experience\, encourage collaboration\, and connect quantum computing with 
 real problems that are relevant to the region.\nThe hackathon is also alig
 ned with relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\, pa
 rticularly those related to clean water and sanitation and affordable and 
 clean energy.\nA practical and impact-driven approach\nUnlike traditional 
 academic events that emphasize lectures or purely theoretical discussions\
 , the Quantum Hackathon places hands-on experimentation and teamwork at th
 e core of the experience. Participants will work in multidisciplinary team
 s\, guided by experts from academia\, research institutions\, and industry
  worldwide\, to develop proofs of concept\, algorithms\, or prototype solu
 tions using modern quantum computing tools and platforms.\nThe proposed ch
 allenges are inspired by ongoing development projects and regional priorit
 ies in Jordan & Middle East\, highlighting the potential benefits of quant
 um computing for addressing large-scale societal and technological challen
 ges.\nStrengthening Middle east’s quantum ecosystem through global colla
 boration\nOrganized by SESAME in collaboration with CERN\, Delegation of t
 he European Union to Jordan (EEAS)\, Open Quantum Institute (OQI) and Arab
  States Research and Education Network (ASREN) through its Hackathon in a 
 box program\, this hackathon is embedded within a broader ecosystem-buildi
 ng dynamic.\nBy combining regional talent with international expertise\, t
 he event aims to:\n\nbuild and strengthen quantum computing capacity acros
 s Middle East and beyond\,\nFoster collaboration between international ins
 titutions and global experts\,\nEncourage knowledge transfer and mentorshi
 p at an international level\,\nRaise awareness among stakeholders and deci
 sion-makers about the strategic importance of quantum technologies for the
  continent.\n\nWho is the hackathon for?\nThe Quantum Impact Hackathon –
  2026 is intended for:\n\nMaster’s and PhD students from universities\,\
 nHighly motivated final-year Bachelor (BSc / Licence L3) students\,\nYoung
  researchers and professionals in transition\,\n\nParticipants will be pri
 marily selected based on their qualifications\, as well as through nominat
 ions from participating facilities (in some cases)\, to ensure academic qu
 ality\, diversity\, and meaningful engagement.\nEvent language\nAs SESAME 
 is an international research centre\, mentors\, speakers\, and judges will
  come from different countries and nationalities. Therefore\, English will
