The BEATS X-ray tomography lectures & training course
The program will extend over two half days at SESAME and comprise the following elements:
- Base lecture program in tomography, applications, techniques, and related optics/instrumentation.
- Hands-on training in X-ray tomography data collection and image reconstruction.
- Satellite workshop on 3D image processing and visualization.
- Opportunities for networking and new contacts with fellow researchers and international experts.
Participation in the hands-on training is limited to ten participants to provide a good and stimulating learning experience and enable addressing the specific needs and requests of the participants.
Successful applicants will enjoy full coverage of the costs for travel and accommodation.
Audience:
The program is targeting researchers from universities and research institutions in the region and beyond with concrete ideas for the use of X-ray tomography at SESAME in their forthcoming research projects, but feel that they are still lacking the necessary experience.
Applications:
Prospective participants are requested to register here and submit an abstract, summarizing their general research interests and discussing their concrete experimental plans for a project at BEATS. The length of this abstract is limited to 2000 characters including blanks. The deadline is April 30, 2023.
