Registration (Saturday 27 May 2023)
The reception and registration desk will be open from 5.00 pm to 7:30 pm at the SESAME's Sergio Fubini Guest House.
Students presentations and posters
On Sunday and Monday afternoon, participants will be invited to present themselves with a "lightning", 5 minutes talk focused on the current research activity and interests related to the the field of scientific computing. In addition, students will have the chance of illustrating in more detail their research topics and/or recent scientific results by means of posters that will be exposed during the School (poster in A1 size with portrait orientation).
Laptop and required software
Students are kindly requested to have their own laptop, properly configured to connect to a remote Linux machine via SSH. Although you can of course do all the exercises on the systems we provide, you may also consider installing a recent C++ compiler on your laptop, so that you can play locally with many of the examples and exercises that will be proposed. On Windows you may want to install a full Linux distribution under WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux). This would make it possible for you to bring home at least part of the environment that you will be playing with during the School.
Final certification
On the last day of the School, students will have the opportunity to test their learning achievements through a written exam. The successful outcome of the test will be reported on a written certificate for those interested. A simple attendance certificate will also be available on request.
Electricity
Jordan operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.
